'People are intimidated' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

It's evident why Arsenal stand as numerous fans' top picks to claim the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their performances against Fulham and Crystal Palace versus those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have defeated all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's defensive strength is a crucial element why they are appearing strong to finally fulfil their title target.

They lead the league for clean sheets (6), goals conceded (3), attempts against (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and xGA (5.3).

The defensive partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the best in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their effectiveness from free kicks is widely recognized, but rival sides still struggle to stop the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Potential

What is especially remarkable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents aren't faring so well. This marks the first time at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the outset, having allocated around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the business has so far yielded results in remarkable manner, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without conceding a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and pundits have described Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with confidence and purpose.
